Access. Advocacy. Empowerment.
Practical advocacy and accessibility support for navigating barriers, strengthening your voice, and creating more inclusive communities.
Advocacy that starts with listening.
Access isn’t just about compliance. It’s about whether people can fully participate, make informed choices, and have their voices heard.
Tenet & Voice provides individualized advocacy and accessibility support grounded in lived experience, research, and practical problem-solving.
We start by understanding what’s happening, identifying the barriers in the way, and helping you determine what comes next.
Support designed around the barrier - not the other way around.

I created Tenet & Voice because I understand what it means to encounter systems that weren’t designed with disability in mind.
My perspective brings together lived experience with disability, education in human services, and a deep interest in disability rights, civil liberties, and public policy.
Tenet & Voice is built around a simple principle: people should have meaningful access to the systems, services, and communities that shape their lives—and a voice in the decisions that affect them.
Meet Rachel
Lived experience. Inspired advocacy.
Let’s talk reality.
I didn’t come to advocacy because it sounded like meaningful work. I came to it because I’ve lived what happens when the systems meant to support people don’t quite know what to do with them.
I was born three and a half months premature with only a 25% chance of survival. Retinopathy of prematurity led to experimental eye surgeries as an infant, followed by retinal detachment surgeries at 12, cataract surgery at 27, and another retinal detachment at 34 that left me legally blind.
Suddenly, I was learning how to navigate the world differently while also raising my autistic daughter.
There was no neat roadmap.
I had to learn rehabilitation, accessible technology, orientation and mobility, and how to advocate for myself in systems that were often confusing, fragmented, or simply not designed with disability in mind. I learned to use a white cane. I adapted my technology. Tinted glasses became part of navigating fluorescent lighting and painfully bright days. And alongside all of that came the emotional reality of losing vision, rebuilding independence, and figuring out who I was going to be on the other side of it.
But my story isn’t simply about losing my sight.
It’s about what I learned when I had to rebuild.
I learned how exhausting it can be to constantly explain what you need.
I learned how much difference the right information, accommodation, resource, or person in your corner can make.
And I learned that accessibility isn’t about making life “easier” for disabled people. It’s about removing unnecessary barriers so people have the opportunity to participate fully in their own lives.
That experience eventually became part of the foundation for Tenet & Voice.
Today, I bring together lived experience with my education in human services and my interests in disability rights, civil liberties, advocacy, and public policy. I don’t believe advocacy means speaking for people. I believe it means helping people understand their options, strengthen their own voice, and navigate systems with more information and confidence.
Because people shouldn’t have to become experts in broken systems just to access the things they need.
That is why Tenet & Voice exists.
You don’t have to know where to start.
Maybe you know exactly what you need. Maybe you only know that something isn’t working.
Tell me a little about what’s happening and what you’re hoping to accomplish. I’ll review your inquiry and determine whether Tenet & Voice is the right resource for you.
